A blowgun (also called a blowpipe or blow tube) is a simple weapon consisting of a small tube for firing light projectiles or darts.\r

The weapon is used by inserting the projectile inside the pipe (known as a blowgun) and using the force created by ones breath to give the projectile momentum. Its propulsive power is limited by the users respiratory muscles.\r

Blowguns are profoundly simple weapons. A tube for darts, powered by the shooters lungs, is enough to guide silent projectiles swiftly through the air, embedding a narrow point in wood, concrete or whatever else is on the receiving end.\r

A blowgun is a very historic weapon. Its ually one of the oldest know projectile weapons, perhaps after chucking a rock. Essentially a dart is blown through a tube by a strong breath, propelling the dart extremely fast and quite accurately. It is also extremely quiet, so it can be used without anyone noticing. I decided to make one a few days ago for target price, so I thought Id show you what I did along the way. \r

Making a blowgun is ually pretty easy and requires few items. Heres what I gathered:\r

For the darts:\r
- 1000 perler beads (from Jo-Anns, see picture)\r
- a bottle of Loctite Ultragel Control super glue\r
- a sharpie\r
- some nails that fit snugly in the perler beads\r
- some paper\r
- a pair of scissors\r
- a ruler\r
- some tape\r
- you may need two pairs of pliers to help get the beads over the nails, it can be hard depending on how thick your nails are\r

For the gun itself:\r
- a hot glue gun with glue\r
- some sort of duct tape, I used camo\r
- a 3/4 PVC to PVC adapter\r
- 5 Rigid PVC tubing sunlight resistant (from Lowes, see picture)\r
