Young women in Oakland, California, are attending a unique kind of camp.
They're learning how to make street art at Graffiti Camp, run by the artist Girl Mobb. While at camp, young women learn the basics of spray-painting, collaborating on a mural at the end of the course. It's all legal, as Graffiti Camp partners with businesses and art studios that are willing to let the girls paint on their walls.
The course is already a hit with young Oaklanders, and the camp has been asked to expand to other cities. It's empowering women, one can of spray paint at a time.
