LYRICS:\r
\r
Come take a journey through the \r
Periodic Table with me\r
I have a grand fascination \r
about chemistry \r
\r
An atom was the smallest particle \r
of an element you see\r
and it retains all of that \r
elements properties\r
Atoms are the building blocks\r
to all things in the universe\r
They even make up you and me\r
onto the next verse\r
What makes up an atom\r
smaller particles youll see\r
Well start with the center \r
called the Nucleus in me\r
The Nucleus is made up of things \r
called Neutrons and Protons \r
Together are the dense center \r
of an Atom in this song\r
Neutrons are known for having\r
a neutral electric charge\r
And the Protons which is said to be \r
positively charged \r
The number of Protons in an Atom\r
does determine an elements \r
physical property\r
this lesson is large\r
No two Atoms have the same amount \r
of protons in number\r
That is what makes one element \r
different from another\r
The Atomic number\r
is the amount of protons in an Atom\r
That concludes this lesson \r
on the nucleus if you can fathom\r
Onto Electrons they are negatively charged\r
And revolve around the Nucleus\r
like planets around our star\r
Electrons and Protons attr\r
One another\r
Thats why in most atoms you\r
can find both particles in equal numbers\r
\r
Come take a journey through the \r
Periodic Table with me\r
I have a grand fascination \r
about chemistry \r
\r
Looking at the Periodic Table \r
What do you see\r
A host of Elements that make up \r
everything in the galaxy \r
You read the Periodic Table\r
from left to right\r
Each of the seven horizontal rows\r
are called periods in site\r
The 18 vertical columns \r
are called groups on the table\r
Chemists made it this way\r
and gave each one a cool label \r
All The colored groups you see\r
are different element families\r
that have the same number of\r
Valence Electrons if you please\r
Look closely at an element \r
and heres what will be\r
First you see the Symbol \r
Above the elements Name its key\r
The Atomic number\r
is the next thing we will look at\r
which is the amount of Protons \r
in the nucleus how bout that\r
Then the Atomic Mass \r
Is the number of protons\r
added to the number of neutrons \r
within a Nucleus learned in this song\r
\r
Come take a journey through the \r
Periodic Table with me\r
I have a grand fascination \r
about chemistry \r
\r
There are 10 different groups \r
of Elements that I will teach you\r
I will list them off and hope \r
that they stick to you like glue\r
The first group\r
are the Element metals\r
Well start with Alkali, \r
Alkaline Earth and Lanthanoids \r
I hope you follow\r
Then theres Actinoids\r
Transition and Post-transition \r
There are 6 groups of Metals\r
And to learn them is our mission\r
The next group are Metalloids\r
Its a group on its own\r
The last group Ill tell you about \r
are Nonmetals 3 are shown\r
Nonmetals is the first \r
and the second are Halogens\r
Then Noble gases\r
concludes the three groups we are in\r
Now you know the basics \r
of the Periodic table\r
In the future I will\r
touch upon each element when I am able\r
So stay tuned to this channel \r
just as much as you can\r
And I will teach you the elements\r
So you can understand\r
\r
Come take a journey through the \r
Periodic Table with me\r
I have a grand fascination \r
about chemistry \r
\r
Come take a journey through the \r
Periodic Table with me\r
