Our Daughters RARE DIAGNOSIS - Angelman Syndrome

This youtube video is about our Daughter and her rare diagnosis of Angelman Syndrome. Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic and neurological disorder caused by a genetic mutation of the gene UBE3A located on Chromosome 15 in the brain. \r
It affects 1 in approximately every 12 - 20,000 births, and is sometimes misdiagnosed as Autism or Cerebral Palsy. It also used to be known as Happy Puppet Syndrome.\r
Some of the main symptoms of Angelman Syndrome are: Developmental Delays, Speech Impairment, Movement or Balance Disorders, Frequent Happy/Smiling Demeanor, Jerky Arm Movements, Feeding Problems, and Sleep Problems. Currently there is NO CURE FOR ANGELMAN SYNDROME.\r
We wanted to share our daughters story with everyone to help raise awareness, and to also help other families that may be going through the same issues we did.\r
