ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal condemned the attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P)’s leader and opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan in Karachi on Saturday.
Mamnoon Hussain also expressed his condolence over the death of a police official and a citizen in the unfortunate incident.
He said that the terrorists would not be allowed to play with the lives and properties of the people.
The prime minister while condemning the attack has sought report on the incident from the authorities concerned.

While, Ahsan Iqbal telephoned MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar and condemned the attack on Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan.
The interior minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives of a police official and a civilian in the incident.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the culprits involved in the incident would be apprehended soon. He assured complete cooperation of the federal departments in this regard.
Director General Rangers Major General Muhammad Saeed briefed the interior minister about the incident.
Izhar escaped an assassination attempt, but his security guard and a passer-by lost their lives in the ambush.
The assailants launched the attack when the MQM lawmaker, was leaving a mosque after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers early Saturday morning in Buffer Zone area.
A teenager, said to be 14-year-old, lost his life alongside the security guard of Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan.
