Gabriela Fernanda Torres, a wheelchair bound professional tango dancer, hit the hardwood stage with her partner Pablo Rafael Pereyra for the qualifying round of the Stage Tango Category in the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires on Thursday, in what is believed to be a first for the competition. The dancers described this as an opportunity to bring about social change in how people look at wheelchair users in the field of dance.

The 2017 Buenos Aires Tango Festival and Dance World Cup finished up on August 23. Buenos Aires is the home of Tango, the dance form originated here in the late 18th century.
