It is still faster than any current Category 1 high-speed rails.Musk, its founder, says he’s received verbal approval from the government to build a tunnel from New York to Washington, D.C., with the goal of reducing travel time to 29 minutes between the two cities. While the pod hasn’t yet reached supersonic speeds, Musk and his team reached another major milestone.
