Alicia Vikander's Tomb Raider Training Resulted in #Gainz, Can Lift Own Bodyweight

We know Alicia Vikander is a strong actress, but now that she’s officially Lara Croft in the reboot of Tomb Raider, get ready to see her as a full-blown action star.

According to E! News, the actress tells Elle magazine about her #gainz in the gym for her role as the adventurous, gun-toting video game character. Alicia tells Elle, “I’ve never done action scenes on this level-not even close. It feels like I’m back dancing – the training, the intensity. You need to be aware of your movement up in the wires and how your body works.”

This meant that Alicia had to adopt a rigorous training schedule too. She tells Elle that she spent significant time, “bulking up quite a lot at first and then trying to just, like, tone down… I’ve never been able to lift my own weight, and the way when you have that capacity, it’s pretty empowering! And you get the endorphins afterward.”

Fans can expect Alicia to deliver a powerful performance, but who knew she’d become like the next Hollywood #fitchick?
