John Morell, a Parisian portrait painter played by John Carradine, is the elusive serial killer the Paris authorities have been trying to find now for months. After painting his beautiful female models, Morell strangles them and dumps them in the streets. One of his models, however, discovers his secret before the portrait is finished and vows to make him accountable for what he’s done.
