Wildfire Rages Close to British Columbia Mountains

Wildfires raged close to mountains and forests in British Columbia over the weekend of July 8 and 9, leading to the evacuation of around 7,000 people, according to CBC News.This footage shows the flames burning along the treetop of a farm in Little Fort, a community on the west bank of the North Thompson River in British Columbia. The uploader wrote: “This community has amazed me. No one will leave yet. Volunteer fire department has been working constantly. Farmers taking it upon themselves to wet perimeters and bulldoze fire breaks.”A portion of Little Fort west and south of Lemieux Creek was placed under evacuation order on July 7 due to the blaze.The ongoing wildfires in British Columbia were spurred on by high humidity levels, hot weather and a lack of rainfall in the province.
