Those who have missed the theatre experience of the greatest movie ever in the history of Indian film industry, 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha', will now get a rare chance to watch it in the theatre. Yes, as per sources, the authorities are planning to re-release the movie, which saw the spectacular performances of Mammootty, Madhavi, Captain Raju, Balan K Nair, Geetha, Suresh Gopi etc, in digital format.
'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha' directed by Hariharan and penned by M T Vasudevan Nair, got listed in the third position among the '100 Great Indian Films of All Time', in an online poll conducted by IBN Live as part of the 100 Years of Indian Cinema Celebrations. The movie was released in the year 1989 and now it is celebrating its silver jubilee.
The movie got lots of national and state recognitions. For his performance as 'Chandhu' in this movie, Mammootty was honoured with the National Award for Best Actor. Apart from this, the movie also won National awards for best screen-play, best art direction and best costume. It also won six awards in the Kerala State Film Awards 1989.
