Triple murder-suicide in San Francisco UPS shooting

SAN FRANCISCO — A gunman opened fire at a UPS customer service center on Wednesday, wounding two employees and killing three.

At 8:30 a.m. on June 14, officials received a call about an active shooter situation taking place at a UPS facility in San Francisco. The gunman was seen wearing a UPS staff uniform, though his employment with the company has not been confirmed.

The gunman shot five employees, three of whom died.

As police arrived on scene, staff members on site were told to put their hands up as they were led out of the building. When confronted by officers, the gunman put an assault pistol to his head and swiftly discharged the firearm, killing himself instantly.

The UPS facility, which acts as a sorting hub and package delivery center, employs 350 people. A motive for the attack has not been released at this time.
