On Sunday, roughly 100 students walked out of the Notre Dame commencement ceremony as Vice President Mike Pence took the podium. Many of the protesters wore rainbow pins and flags, and marched to protest Pence’s past stances on LGBTQ rights. The vice president has been criticized for opposing same-sex marriage and voting against protecting LGBTQ individuals from discrimination.
