Why is fruit juice so bad for your baby?
Fruit juice should be banned from children's diet if they are under one, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Doctors noted fruit juice has no nutritional benefit, and infants should be consuming breastmilk or formula for nutrients. The new guidelines state that fresh juice can be part of healthy diet for children older than one. "We recommend breastfeeding or formula in that age group, and there really isn't any need or beneficial role for juice, so we kind of made that adjustment," Dr. Steven A. Abrams, co-author of the guidelines.
