More than 2,000 runners from over 60 nations took part in one of the most challenging races in the world on Saturday (20 May), The Great Wall Marathon in China.
Athletes conquered 5,164 steps and ran though rural villages while dealing with stifling 35C heat in China’s Tianjin province.
The marathon was held for the 18th time.
Marcin Joachim Swierc of Poland won the men’s race in 03:14:34.
Anna Sofie Nelsson of Sweden won the women’s race in 04:11:21.
