Bodycam Footage Shows Man Attack Deputy With Gun Before Officer-Involved Shooting

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado released bodycam footage showing an officer-involved shooting that took place in Littleton on May 13.In the video, a sheriff’s deputy, identified in reports as Brad Proulx, can be seen near to an SUV. The sheriff’s office reportedly said Proulx had pulled over to offer assistance.As he made his way around the vehicle, the vehicle’s driver, named Deyon Marcus Rivas-Maestas, emerged brandishing a weapon, and allegedly attacked.Retreating, Proulx discharged his weapon, hitting Rivas-Maestas, who was taken to hospital. Rivas-Maestas will face assault charges once discharged from hospital, Commander Trent Cooper of the Littleton Police Department was reported to have said.
