Maria Sharapova will not be playing in the French Open, president of the French Tennis Federation, Bernard Giudicelli, announced Tuesday. The tennis champion, who won the tournament twice, was also denied a wild-card spot. Sharapova returned to the tour last month, after a 15-month suspension for using a banned substance. The 30-year-old, who is currently ranked No. 211, did not acquire enough points for direct entry into the French Open.
