This ‘Beached Whale’ Is Made Of Trash From The Ocean

by Jeff DonlanIn the Philippines, Greenpeace has built a 50-foot sculpture on a beach using more than 130 lbs of trash in an effort to raise awareness about the dumping of plastic in the ocean. The Philippines dumps nearly 60,000 tons of plastic each year, making it one of the world’s worst offenders. 70% of plastic sinks to the bottom of the ocean, where it damages the delicate ecosystem.
