It’s called the St. BALDrick’s Foundation and it’s all in support of children with cancer. One local supporter, a children’s oncologist, had planned to be a part of this year’s volunteer event in his Washington hometown. But after being called into the line of duty in Iraq, Major Stephen Roberts organized an event for soldiers on base. Soldier after solider got their heads shaved to support the kids going through cancer back home, and although due to army regulations, women cannot sport shaved heads, they cheered on fellow soldiers and were able to give donations. According to Roberts, the donations are extremely helpful and he says they’ve helped the kids cancer lifetime survival rate increase to 80-percent...........
