BJP MP stirs controversy over Tobacco comments

Two days after BJP MP from Allahabad and 'beedi baron' Shyam Charan Gupta kicked up a row by saying that there is no link between cancer and tobacco consumption, party MP from Tezpur Ram Prasad Sarmah added fuel to fire by seconding Gupta on Friday. The BJP MP went on to say that he knew a person, who died of old age ailments, and not cancer, at the age of 86, despite smoking 60 cigarettes a day.
