Chris Soules Could Go To Prison For 25 Years After Deadly Hit-And-Run

Things may have just gone from bad to worse for Chris Soules. An Iowa criminal attorney told RadarOnline.com that the former Bachelor star could spend some seriously hard time behind bars.
As OK! readers know, Soules was arrested last week after allegedly slamming his pickup truck into the back of a tractor-trailer, killing the driver, before fleeing the scene after calling 911. The 35-year-old reality star was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal car accident that left one individual dead, which could send him to prison for up to 25 years, Nick Sarcone revealed to Radar.
However, according to Mr. Sarcone, Chris’ 911 call, that his lawyers claim proves he “remained on the scene with [the victim] until emergency medical personnel arrived,” could actually lead to his downfall.
“What made it interesting was that on the phone call with the dispatcher, they asked Soules if the victim was breathing, and Soules responded that he didn’t believe he was, which is key evidence in terms of having an obligation to stay at the scene at that point,” Sarcone explained.
Making matter’s worse, while authorities were unable to administer a field sobriety test after the accident – alcohol containers were found at the scene of the accident, according to the police report – police recently obtained a search warrant to attain the results from Soules’ hospital blood test, according to Radar.
“If they find evidence of alcohol in his blood, he can then be charged with vehicular homicide, which is a class B felony — a 25-year maximum prison sentence,” Sarcone revealed.
“If he is charged with both leaving the scene and vehicular homicide, he will have to serve a minimum of 70% percent of the class B felony, which means a minimum of 17-and-a-half years in prison.”
Soules will be back in court on May 9th.
