by Andrew CaringiRussia’s Arctic Trefoil military base could make the country rich. The new base sits in a region with huge oil reserves believed to be worth as much as $35 trillion. Trefoil will house 150 soldiers and nuclear-ready Su-34 fighter jets. It was built on stilts to help it withstand the extreme cold in the area, where temperatures can go as low as -58°F. Special forces will use reindeer-pulled sleighs for transportation.
