Chittoor mayor shot dead in Andhra Pradesh, husband critical

Andhra Pradesh Chittoor district Mayor Katari Anuradha was attacked with knives and then shot dead inside her office today. Her husband Katari Mohan, a Telugu Desam Party leader, was also injured in the attack. He has been admitted to a hospital in the city and is in serious condition. Sources in the police say they believe it could be a of old rivalry.
