Butter Mutton is a delicious rich mutton recipe where mutton pieces are marinated in Indian spices and then cooked in onion tomato gravy. This is an easy to make main course recipe served with roti, chapati or naan.
Ingredients:
For Marination
1/2 kg Mutton
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 tsp Oil
Salt to taste
For Gravy
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Oil
Coriander Leaves
1 Onion, chopped
1 Tomato, pureed
1/2 Cup Fresh Cream
1 tsp Honey
1 Cup Water
Method:
- In a large bowl add mutton pieces, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and salt. Mix everything well with your hands.
- In a pan heat some oil and butter.
- Add the marinated mutton pieces and saute them for few minutes.
- In a pressure cooker heat butter and oil.
- Add coriander leaves, chopped onion and pureed tomato. Mix everything well.
- Add the semi cooked mutton and again mix well.
- Add fresh cream little water.
- Cover it with a lid and let the mutton cook on 4 whistles.
- Once the mutton is cooked add little honey. Give a stir.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
