Srinagar is witnessing tension again after fresh clashes between students and the police yesterday in National Institute of Technology campus. NIT saw clashes last week among students after India exited the T20 World Cup. The protesters were outstation students who said they wanted to go back home due to the violent clashes that broke out last week. At least four students were injured after students were lathi-charged by the police. The situation escalated to the point that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh wrote to newly sworn-in Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who assured him that action would be taken.
