Jude Law is about to add a whole lot of magic to his life!

According to Variety, the star has been picked by producers to star as Albus Dumbledore in the sequel to 2016's "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them."

Dumbledore is considered one of the most iconic and beloved characters in J.K. Rowling’s wizardly book series. Richard Harris made the role famous in the first two “Harry Potter” films before passing the torch to Michael Gambon after his death in 2002.

Director David Yates told Variety, "Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him."

Jude did beat out some strong competition for the role. Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong, and Jared Harris were all considered for the sought-after part in the "Harry Potter" spinoff.

The film will follow Dumbledore’s life long before the wizard became the headmaster at Hogwarts School and Harry Potter’s mentor.
