Spanish Authorities Seize Cocaine Hidden in Fake Bananas

Spain’s Guardia Civil said on March 26 that it had seized a shipment of cocaine hidden in fake bananas.The Guardia Civil said a Spanish man and an Italian man had been arrested and that a second Italian national was being questioned.Some 7 kg (15 lb) of the drugs were found in 57 resin bananas; a further 10 kg were found hidden among real bananas.The agency said the seizure was part of an operation with Spain’s tax authority, which began in November.
