A heartwarming video has emerged of a US soldier surprising his daughter after 6 months on deployment.
The footage, captured in Galveston, Texas last week, shows US airman Adam Vera emerging from a Pokemon themed cardboard box to greet his excited daughter.
According to Vera's ex wife - he had been serving in Kabul for six months prior to his homecoming.
"This would mean missing holidays and her birthday," she wrote online.
"They had weekly Skype dates, but she still missed her fun times with her daddy."
"He and I conspired a plan to surprise her at daycare. He and his sister made her a special present to catch her attention. I told her that her grandmother was picking her up. When Adam's sister Lindsey picked her up, she thought THAT was the surprise. But little did she know, it was her daddy."
