The grandson of the late Gambino crime boss John Gotti has been arrested along with another high-profile mobster in an arson case. John J. Gotti, 23, and Vincent Asaro, 82, were arrested for firebombing a man’s car in Howard Beach in 2012. Asaro is known for being a suspect in the Lufthansa heist in 1978, where more than $6 million in cash and jewels were stolen at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Seven members of the Bonnano crime family were also arrested on charges of arson, bank robbery, and home invasion. All the suspects are expected to appear in federal court in Brooklyn this week.
