by Jeff DonlanA new 3D-printer could revolutionize the production of large car parts. Ford has started testing a massive Stratasys Infinite Build 3D-Printer – it works just like other 3D-printers, but can print larger, one-piece parts. This method is faster and cheaper than traditional production, but works best for low-volume parts. Ford is currently using the printer to make specialty parts, like spoilers or race car parts. But if testing goes well, this 3D-printer might become a key part of Ford’s production process.
