This NASA Telescope Was Recovered After A Year On Ice

by Anthony FalcoScientists just recovered a NASA telescope trapped in snow for over a year.Recovered a few weeks ago in Antarctica, it was part of a NASA balloon mission that launched in January 2016. The telescope, which studied solar flares, was inside the football field-sized balloon. After 12 days, the balloon was popped and the scientists recovered the mission’s data.But because of the approaching harsh winter conditions, they were unable to recover the drop — until now. Despite the year on ice, the telescope was not damaged. Scientists hope to put it back to work in the near future.
