The Reason.tv Project

Reason.tv was launched in October 2007 with the help of Drew Carey. Mr. Carey, a longtime libertarian, approached Reason magazine, whose motto is “free minds and free markets,” with the idea of producing videos that expose government regulations and policies that impinge on personal freedom. The Web site has roughly 2.5 million viewers a month who tune in to watch the Drew Carey Project and other libertarian videos. Topics include medical marijuana, a dancing ban in Arizona, organ transplants, road congestion, and eminent domain.

We spoke with the editor of reason.com and reason.tv, Nick Gillespie, who just stepped down as editor in chief of Reason, the magazine, after holding that title for eight years. See and hear what he has to say about reason.tv and presidential politics in the accompanying video.
