‘The OA’ renewed for season 2 at Netflix

Netflix's polarizing drama The OA is returning. The streaming giant has renewed the supernatural thriller The OA for Season 2 — or “Part II,” as it is being dubbed. “The OA” is written and produced by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. In the series, Marling stars as Prairie Johnson, a young blind woman who returns to her hometown after an unexplained seven-year absence — her eyesight restored and now calling herself “The OA.” The OA‘s pickup comes days after Netflix announced a Halloween timeframe for the Season 2 premiere of Stranger Things, one of its other supernatural-tinged originals.
