New Yorkers erase Nazi graffiti off subway car

NEW YORK — New Yorkers may be notorious for giving zero fucks, but some things just can’t be ignored and hateful graffiti is one of them.

In a post on Facebook, lawyer Gregory Locke said that on Saturday night he boarded a Manhattan 1 train and was shocked to discover Nazi graffiti all over the car. Every window, door and ad display case had swastikas and anti-Semitic messages black-markered on them.

Commuters on the train were stunned silent before one guy piped up to suggest using hand sanitizer to erase the graffiti, prompting everyone to pull out Purell and tissues. Within minutes, the entire car had been scrubbed clean.

Locke’s post has received more than 600,000 reactions and was shared more than 400,000 times.
