Wind Turbine Breaks 24 Hour Energy Record

by Jeff DonlanA giant offshore wind turbine, located in Denmark, broke the record for most energy produced in 24 hours. The turbinegenerated 216,000 kWh in a 24 hour test. That is enough energy to power the average American household for 20 years. It stands 722 feet tall, with 263-foot-long, 38-ton blades. MHI Vestas Offshore Wind built this turbine, and many other offshore wind farms across Europe. This turbine is a prototype, but it has proven that it is ready for the market.
