The 20-year-old daughter of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has blasted Barack Obama for not commuting her father’s sentence.

The 20-year-old daughter of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has blasted Barack Obama for not commuting her father’s sentence, reports the Chicago Tribune.
In her 1,511-word letter, which was posted online, Amy Blagojevich tells the former U.S. president, “You’ve broken my heart once again, and you’ve betrayed the concept of justice like many other heartless individuals have done before you."
She then adds, “Turns out you’re just like the rest – selfish and spineless.”
The young woman eventually writes, in part, “You know as well as anyone, that my father is guilty of nothing….You didn’t have to pardon him, only commute the sentence. You just had to let him come home. You didn’t.”
Amy then criticizes him for releasing people who are guilty of their crimes like Chelsea Manning before saying she has “lost all faith.”
Her father has been in prison for the past four years, serving a 14-year sentence on corruption-related charges including one involving the sale of the Senate seat Obama vacated after he was elected president, notes Fox News.
According to a Chicago Sun-Times report, “Both Blagojevich daughters wrote letters to Obama on behalf of their father in November, asking the president to ‘let him come home to take care of his family.’”
However, their father’s name was not on his list of final commutations.
