China Boy – Carlings 1984
Hans Carling starts this famous jazz classic in a high tempo. Again in his playing he is very much inspired by Bixian phrasing. His band is the New Cooling Orchestra and in this set he features his own youngsters as well. His daughter Gunhild gets the main solo part together with the band’s trombonist Dymitr Markiewicz. Undoubtedly of incredible talent 9 year old Gunhild handles the challenge like a seasoned professional. Her 15 year old brother Max is on clarinet.
