President-elect Donald Trump has officially appointed New York Jets owner Woody Johnson as the United States ambassador to the UK. Johnson has never held a political office prior to this appointment, though he did serve as the national finance chair for Jeb Bush's campaign. While serving as the UK ambassador, Johnson will relinquish the day-to-day control of the Jets to his younger brother, Christopher Wold Johnson.
