New research finds that more Americans are developing melanoma than in the past. Melanoma is a potentially deadly skin cancer and in 2016 one out of every 54 Americans was expected tod develop melanoma over their lifetime. That's up from one in 58 when the same study was performed in 2009. According to a research time at the National Society for Cutaneous Medicine, an estimated 76,380 Americans will be diagnosed with melanoma in 2016, while 10,100 Americans are expected to die from the disease in 2016.
