No. 18 Butler hands No. 1 Villanova their first loss of the season

The undefeated Villanova Wildcats lost their first game of the 2016-2017 season last night, falling to 18th-ranked Butler, 66-58. The loss ended Villanova's 20 game winning streak that dated back to last season. It also will most likely knock them out of the #1 ranking in the polls. Butler's victory moves them to 13-2 overall and extends their home winning streak to 12 games. The home crowd then stormed the court in celebration. There are now only two remaining unbeaten teams, No. 2 Baylor and No. 5 Gonzaga, both of whom will likely rise as a result of Villanova's loss.
