Fiji hit by 7.2-magnitude earthquake

An earthquake with the magnitude of 7.2 struck 176 miles south of Fiji on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The tremor initially prompted tsunami warnings within the quake's epicenter, but were shortly dismissed within an hour of the warning. the Tsunami Warning Center said. The quake appeared to pose no sign of real concern to a significant portion of the island.
