Miriam Chandy Menacherry said that the idea for the documentary on rat killers came to her mind when she saw an advertisement in the paper wherein the municipal authorities had sought applications for the job and thousands of young people, some of whom were graduates, applied for the post and this fascinated her and she thought of making a documentary on the subject.
