Facebook acquires eye tracking startup Eye Tribe

Facebook purchased the Danish startup Eye Tribe, which specializes in eye tracking technology to improve virtual reality, according to TechCrunch. While details remain unknown regarding the acquisition price, the eye tracking company is believed to join Facebook's Oculus’s virtual reality system. Eye Tribe was founded in 2011 by two students at the University of Copenhagen to develop consumer-friendly eye tracking technology. The company has developed a separate product for both software developers and also for consumers.
