Kareena Kapoor To Play Journalist In 'Satyagraha'

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who has played a variety of roles from a prostitute (Chameli) to a college student (Bodyguard) to a spy (Agent Vinod), will be reportedly playing the role of a journalist inPrakash Jha's next film Satyagraha and her role is supposedly modeled on CNN's scribe Christiane Amanpour. A source close to the film unit claimed that Jha wanted Kareena to understand the kind of passion Amanpour puts in her reporting and hence, made her watch tapes of the CNN reporter's show and news coverage. Prakash Jha confirmed the news and said that he had Amanpour in mind when he wrote the character of the journalist in Satyagraha and had decided then to sign up Kareena for the role. Kareena Kapoor will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, where she will be seen essaying the role of an actress named Mahi Arora, who reaches the pinnacle of success and then suffers a crushing downfall.
