Hare Coursing Cruelty - Blood Sports in Ireland

Hare coursing is a cruel blood "sport" carried out in Ireland under licence from the country's Department of the Environment.

A majority of Irish people want this inhumane activity banned and there is an ongoing campaign aimed at convincing the government to outlaw it.

Coursing involves netting hares from the wild and forcing them to run for their lives in front of muzzled greyhounds. Hares suffer fear, stress and injuries such as broken bones. Some hares die while being netted, while being kept in captivity (up to 3 months), when violently mauled into the ground by the dogs and after being released to the wild.

The Irish Council Against Blood Sports is campaigning for a ban on hare coursing and other blood sports. Join our campaign today at www.banbloodsports.com. Thank you.
