D.C. Council passes paid family leave bill

The D.C. Council voted on Dec. 20, to pass a plan that will provide private-sector workers expansive paid family and medical leave. The bill guarantees eight weeks of paid time off for new parents, six weeks for those caring for sick family members and two weeks of personal sick time.
