Gigi Hadid responds to Melania Trump impersonation backlash

Gigi Hadid addressed her impersonation of Melania Trump at the American Music Awards with a handwritten note. The supermodel parodied the future First Lady in a monologue at the AMAs, related to Melania’s plagiarism of Michelle Obama‘s speech during the Republican National Convention. “I was honored to host the AMA’s last night and to work with some of the most respected writers in the business. I removed or changed anything in the script that I felt took the joke too far, and whether or not you choose to see it, what remained was done in good humor and with no bad intent,” Hadid posted on Twitter. Jay Pharaoh, who co-hosted the AMAs, also debuted his parody of Donald Trump following Hadid's monologue.
