Filmmaker and Hollywood uber-geek Kevin Smith has wrapped production on Hollyweed. Smith is the director and star of the half-hour comedy set in a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary. It follows two potheads who enlist a charming porn star in their quest for profits and the perfect bud." Variety reports that the half-hour episode received money from television production company FreemantleMedia and firms with ties to the cannabis industry. Smith says Hollyweed picks up where he left off when he wrote Clerks. This time, he is writing dialogue for his own character and works at a dispensary instead of a convenience store.
