On Friday, during a conference call with her campaign staff and volunteers, Hillary Clinton reflected on the election outcome and said, "I’m not going to sugarcoat it...These have been very, very tough days. This is a tough time for our country. I think we have seen how people have been reacting to the events of this election and I know we have got to be reaching out to each other to keep it clear in our own minds that what we did is so important. It looks like we are on the path to winning the popular vote, and that says volumes about the importance of your work and the lasting impact it will have."
Meanwhile, in a "60 Minutes" interview, Donald Trump spoke about his call with Clinton after the election, commenting, "So, Hillary called, and it was a lovely call, and it was a tough call for her I mean, I can imagine."
He continued, "She couldn’t have been nicer...She just said, 'Congratulations, Donald, well done.' And I said, 'I want to thank you very much, you were a great competitor.'"
Trump added, "She is very strong and very smart.”
