DOES CANNING REALLY WORK?
When I was out backpacking with my dad in October 2016, we stumbled across a hidden supply cache that he had buried in a remote area of the Utah desert, many years ago. Much to my surprise, there was a 15 year old can of Progresso Minestrone soup that his friend had packed in and hidden there, so I decided to give it a try, since I was really craving some "fresh vegetables" for my dinner that night...
I'm not going to lie, it was actually pretty good! Hell, it better be, considering that we as humans are expected to live off this kind of stuff in the case that a nuclear war happens and we all end up in fallout bunkers... I couldn't help but draw the comparison to both the Fallout game series and Rust when I was eating the soup. because of the fact that both of those games revolve around mechanics that require you to sometimes eat packaged food that are very old in order to survive. I can tell you that even in non-optimal conditions, this 15 year old canned soup definitely provided what I would hope to see from a tried and true preserving method. Bravo canning, looks like you actually work, but who knows if there's long term consequences inolved with eating decades old food?
PLEASE FORGIVE MY CAMERA, it's not the greatest. I did my best to make sure the sound and video quality were good in this video, but it wasn't planned since I was on vacation and most of it was me filming with one hand while failing to try and open things xD I will try to get a better camera by the end of the year, especially if you want to see more of these kinds of videos.

I will be uploading the supply cache opening video next, along with me eating some of the rice that I found along with it, which was from 1997! Let me know if you are looking forward to that, and if you want to get some clues as to where you might be able to literally find one of the supply caches that are still stashed out there.
